Black Box Concertina

I love this book.
It sits in a black ipod box.
It is made from an old collage work, which was sufficiently complex that as a book every page has something going on.
the backing is done with ink on stamps and a coloured glaze.
The black velvet ribbon is a way to get the work out of the box.
This is part of Tristan Landers' collection now.
The offcuts made the Belt Book.

The book will go in the box either orange spine out or coloured spine out. It's hard to decide which one looks better.

Belt Book

I don't know why I like this "book" so much.
It's a lot of offcuts from this book.
The offcuts were luscious, so I secured them together by sewing them to a longer piece of offcut. They started to curl themselves, so I accelerated the process. A glaze made the backs uniform.
The piece was exhibited at the Lane Cove Gallery in 2012.
