Tracy Lord's Wedding Ladder: a book of sorts

2 days ago I was working along Lord Street when I picked up a few discarded wedding magazines. Now wedding magazines have lovely thick paper, and gorgeous muted colours.
So, since I'm currently obsessed with the form of Jacob's Ladder, I used some of the pages and pushed it a little further.
This particular piece is in fact 21 Jacob's Ladders in various sizes.  Not perfect, but quite pleasing!
I called it Tracy Lord's wedding ladder because I found the paper in Lord Street, but Lord's wedding sounds weird. But Tracy Lord was the Katherine Hepburn character in Philadelphia Story.

Grimm's Fairy Tales: jacob's ladders

This set of Jacob's Ladder "books" is packaged in an old game box.
All of the books are made from Grimm's Fairy Tales (again rescued from a neighbours fence). The coloured ladder is from an Alice in Wonderland movie poster which blew into Anna Warren's yard.

My friend Anna

This is my friend Anna Warren's blog.
Just look at her beautiful drawings and paintings and miniatures and prints...

Day of The Triffids: Reinvented

I picked up a copy of the Day of the Triffids on someone's front fence recently.
It's always a pleasure to repurpose something familiar, which would otherwise have ended up in the garbage.
Paper Made (not a great book) caused me to remember the Jacob's Ladder form. Or as I think of it "how we made crepe paper streamers when I was in primary school".
So then I ran a few Triffid pages through my colour laser printer, and Jacob's Laddered that, and here's the outcome.

Someone who actually completed their sketchbook!!

I bought a sketch book to put in my own to the Project: but I cannot find it, as the deadline looms..
there is always next year!
