Shaun Tan sculptures

The Lost Thing is such a richly illustrated book, I return to it all the time for inspiration whenever my collage brain rains dry. Of course all of the Shaun Tan Oeuvre is worth owning and coveting. And buying for friends and relatives (not just children).
Shaun has a new one coming out this month (i have mine pre-ordered).
In the interim some of his sculptures illustrate a new illustrate the Grimm Tales. Just beautiful!

Uses for washi tape!

I do love my little rolls of patterned adhesive tape.
here's an article on things to do with it. I particularly like the photo of jazzing up your keyboard, although I'm more likely to use it to colour code my cords.

Lyon Musee de Beaux Arts

I have been travelling and have resolved to come back with books, not the raw materials for books!
so here are 3 tiny books (2.5cm square) i made this morning from the brochure of the musee des beaux arts, 1 from a menu for a local lyonnais restaurant, and 1 from the flyer telling what and how to recycle. (no one mentioned the option of making a book out of the flyer!)
The 5 books vary in thickness from 1.3 to 2 cm (depending on how many pages I used!).
I suspect i will need to make some more robust way to keep them together: the belly band has been glued to the concertina, and it's just 2 slits. Perhaps I'll find some leather or something (which may then bring the series together better than the assorted colours currently do.
