B&W Merry go round flag book

This is one of the first flag books I made. I wanted to see how big I could go. 

It was from black and white printouts of merry go round pix I took in Europe (milan, paris, normandy). and the Hong Kong Disneyland in 2006.

the flag book is such a beautiful object!

World Book Encyclopedia cut away

the first time I saw Brian Dettmer's work I was awestruck.

this is one of my first attempts to do something similar.

it wasn't as complex as I thought it would be, but it did require some effort! 

my precision is nowhere near brian dettmer's, but i was happy to test it all out!

This one done from a world book encyclopedia from my aunty susie's old school library.

Altered book: Cutouts from the Boy Detective Fails

This was not a great book: The boy detective fails.

I bought and read it in Chicago in July 2008 (before I got my kindle).

The paper was lovely. 

So I cut it up while i was there. I was inspired by some of the beautiful architecture in the Chicago buildings.
