Little golden books 2

Tags made from card off cuts from Receipt is acknowledged. Illustrations from Mother Goose nursery rhyme Little Golden Book.  Pockets left over from Snap Crackle and Pop on a grid.
Yet to be incorporated into a book.
But from this came Atlas Deconstructed

Little golden books

This little golden book is the first of a series I've been waiting to make for years.
Inspired a little by last week's pockets.
More to come.

This was the first version. The illustrationsfrom a little golden book of nursery rhymes bought when i was at sturt in January.

But i felt i should use the illustrations from rapunzel  (the book it's inside). So the second picture shows that.

Still conceptualising.

Covers will emerge when I've got more in the series. How much to keep its the question.

This rapunzel cover is a little well loved for me.

Receipt is acknowledged

The design on this edition variee of 5 books is created  from some of my mother's NSW education department's paperwork from the 1970s.
It's awesomely official. All in passive tone. The language is circumlocutive and overly formal.
She filled it out by hand and made a handwritten copy.
The replies from the department are typewritten.
I played with the scanned versions in photoshop and printed on 80gsm orange paper.
Made 16 x 12 cm concertinas. I punched some holes (because I'm a one for seeing through things).
The 5 books make a stack that looks pretty cool.
I later added a further 14 books to the edition variee. Details here.
