While altering Scuffy the Tugboat and Daddies, I was struck by the wonderful intricacy of Tibor Gergely's work.
He died in 1978. But there's a web page with many of his works on it: I love the Americana collection here.
I still have Rosie the Rhinoceros to reconstruct (who knows what form that will take?) and a host of other Golden Book illustrators to wax lyrical about!
